The Fear

Currently, our world is completely in quarantine because of a fatal virus that is killing hundreds of thousands of people. It is spreading and driving people to stay home and self-quarantine. I can personally say that self-quarantining is one of the hardest and most challenging things I've ever had to do. But as you see people suffering and dying because of a sickness that is all over the world, your only hope is to not be exposed to it. The fear of being sick, the fear of dying, and the stress of being at home ALL THE TIME is weighing on all of us. Because this is a devotional blog of course I have to say something about the Bible and how God is working through sickness and death to work for His glory. So here goes...

In "Bible" times, sickness was common; death was common. It was a a time when there was always very little medical assistance wherever you went. Life was not easy. And right now our life isn't easy. All we have is hope. Everything is unknown and everyday are lives change in someway. The government is doing anything and everything in their power to keep our country healthy and safe.

Romans 5:3-4 says, " More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces HOPE."

Revelations 21:4 says, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

Through this sickness, Christ is plotting for our glory. The Israelite survived the plague, Naaman survived leprosy, Job suffered with many sicknesses throughout his life. My point is this, it might seem like a never-ending sickness right now but Christ has a plan. It sure seems like the whole world is suffering death and destruction right now but God's plan is bigger than sin. It's bigger than sickness and it involves you! Be the church, even if your church is shut down. Be the messenger even if you cant leave your house. Do the unexpected to help people in need!
