The Light Of The World

V. 1-2 "In the beginning, the Word was already there. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning."

The Word = Jesus. " Jesus was with God , and Jesus was God." Make sense? I just wanted to clear that up. Have you ever read the book of John? If you have, it is a wonderful book! John is an amazing poet in his words and how he is so descriptive it's so interesting to read. John is not John the baptist he is another John. Okay... Back to the devo.

V. 3-5 " All things were made through him. Nothing that has been made was made without him. Life was in him, and that life was the light for all people. The light shines in the darkness. But the darkness has not understood it. "

I love those verses! "The light shines in the darkness and the darkness will not overtake it!" God's light is shining in the sinful darkness in this world and the light has overtaken the darkness! There is always a light in the storm.

V. 6-9 " A man who was sent from God. His name was John. He came to give witness so that all people could believe. John himself was not the light. He came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. "

Now John is talking of John the Baptist. John came to spread the love of Christ. He was a witness of Jesus, How can you be a spreader of Christ and a witness of Jesus? There is a light in this world. That light is Jesus. Are you walking in the light? Are you walking in the path that Jesus is walking?
