Finding Strength In Darkness

Darkness is overwhelming. It is overpowering. It can take over very quickly. Throughout the bible, there are many verses about darkness and the overwhelming feeling of grief and sadness that come from it. But God is greater and stronger.

1 John 1:5 says: "God is light. There is no darkness in him at all."

John is expressing that if you except God you start to walk in the light. You are walking in the light of Christ. Later in the book he says "The true light is already shining."

Ephesians 5:8-9 says: "At one time you were in the dark. But now you are in light because of what the Lord has done. Live like children of the light. The light produces what is completely good, right and true."

We are supposed to live, not in darkness, but in the light of Christ.

Exodus 15:2 states that "The Lord gives me strength. I sing about him."

Darkness, grief, and sadness are strong, but Christ is stronger than evil! Take that satin! Christ is strength!
