Walking In The Light

What does it truly mean to be "Walking In The Light"?

"God is light. There is no darkness in him at all." Walking, or living, in the light is living a life that is being honest with God. If we lie when we have done wrong, we are lying to ourselves. We are living in the darkness of sin. God is the only true light that can shine through the smoke of sin.

Lets dig in:

V. 1-2 My dear children, I'm writing this to you so that you will not sin. But suppose someone does sin. Then we have one who speaks to the Father for us. He stands up for us. He is Jesus Christ, the blameless one. He have his life to pay for our sins. He also paid the sins for the whole world!

Jesus dies not only for you, but for the whole world! I ask myself this question a lot: What did I do to deserve that? But God keeps reminding me that He created me! He created you! If you read back in 1 John 1:9 John says " But God is faithful and fair. if we admit we have sinned, he will forgive us our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure."

V. 3-5 We know that we have come to know God if we obey his commands. Suppose someone says, "I know Him." But suppose does not do what God commands. Then that person is a liar and is not telling the truth. But if anyone obey's God's word, then God's love is truly made complete in that person.

Thankfully, God has forgiven us. He knows that we will fail to follow his commands. His love is never-ending, reckless, and everlasting.

V. 8 The darkness is passing away. The true light is already shining!

That is absolutely true. God is coming and we see evidence each and every day!
