V. 14 My brothers and sisters, what good is it if people claim they have faith but don't act like it? Can that kind of faith save them?
What is Faith?
Faith is more than just saying you believe something. Real faith means doing things that show your faith is real. - NIRV Bible
I want you to ask yourself those questions: Can that kind of faith save them? How can you claim that your a Christian and not act like it?
V. 15-16 Suppose a brother or sister has no clothes or food. Suppose one of you says to them, "Go. I hope everything turns out fine for you. Keep warm. Eat well." And you do nothing about what they really need. Then what good have you done?
What good do we do to our brothers and sisters with no food or no clothes? It doesn't matter if they have done something majorly bad because God has forgiven us all.
V. 17-19 It is the same with faith. If it doesn't cause us to do something, it's dead. But someone will say, " You have faith. I do good works." Show me your faith that doesn't do good works. And I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that. And they tremble!
Demons believe there is one God and do they make it into heaven? No! Because they do not show their faith by what they do.
Do you see what I mean?
Their is one God. He created you, loves you, and works in you!
Later in the passage Paul continues with " The body without the spirit is dead. In the same way, faith without good works is dead."
